A Quadcast Series: Peer Programs in College Student Mental Health, part 1

November 09, 2022

This week of the Quadcast marks the first in a two-part series focusing on peer support in college settings and coinciding with the recent release of MCI’s white paper on the same topic. Support for the paper came from the Ruderman Family Foundation.

On this episode, MCI Executive Director Marjorie Malpiede speaks with two young but seasoned leaders of peer support who contributed to the white paper’s findings: Daniel Mirny, the CEO of Lean on Me, a national peer-to-peer text line for mental health support, and Samuel Orley, the former Executive Director of the Wolverine Support Network, a peer-led support group at the University of Michigan. The episode concludes with a conversation between Ms. Malpiede and Dr. Zoe Ragouzeous, the President of MCI and Director of Counseling at NYU.
